Green Mountain WoodCarvers

August Exhibit / Sale

2023 will mark the 50th year the Green Mountain Wood Carvers have organized our Annual August events.

For 40+ years, our Annual August Show had been held in Morrisville Vermont. In 2015, we decided to moved the Show to Rusty Parker Park in Downtown Waterbury Vermont for increased exposure to the public. The response to the move was very positive from both the carvers and the Town of Waterbury. Being an outdoor event, we set up in the park, and the August weather has always cooperated. The exhibit is the second in a series of woodcarving events planned each August. We begin the week with our annual 3 day class held at the Birds of Vermont Museum in the middle of the week. We then culminated the week of activities with our Exhibit and Sale on Saturday.

Members exhibiting in the show come from all over new England, and cover all aspects of wood carving, from caricature carving to wildfowl, birds to Scandinavian flat plane carvings. The Show also has space for vendors, and other artisans working with wood products. Other wood carving clubs are often represented including the New England Woodcarvers and Maine Woodcarvers. The Birds of Vermont Museum also has a table and often offers soap carving classes for young carvers to try their hand at carving.

We are in the process of planning this year's Show and hope you will join us in Waterbury the 3rd Saturday in August.
